Johnson Controls M500MJ intelligent monitoring module
Overview
The M500MJ intelligent monitoring module monitors the status of normally open contact devices, such as water flow indicators, fire hydrant buttons, and pressure switches. It can inform the controller of the status of such fire protection devices in both monitoring and alarm states and display records.
Features of M500MJ
l Built-in model identification system: The control panel can automatically recognize the device as M500MJ.
l Direct power supply through return line: No additional power supply line is required.
l Strong anti-interference capability: Resistant to electromagnetic fields and radio frequency interference (EMF/RFI).
l SEMS screws with clips: Facilitates installation.
l Decimal address setting knob: Allows settings from 01 to 99.
l Built-in magnetic alarm detection switch: The LED flashes during regular operation and remains lit during an alarm.
l Parameters
l Operating voltage: 15-28 VDC
l Static current: 200 µA (LED flashing)
l Maximum current: 5 mA (LED continuously lit)
l Terminal resistance: 47 KΩ
l Temperature range: 0°C to 49°C (32°F to 120°F)
l Humidity range: 10% to 93% (non-condensing)
l Dimensions: 114.3 mm (height) x 101.6 mm (width) x 31.75 mm (thickness)
Applications of M500MJ
Used for monitoring four-wire smoke detectors, water flow indicators, manual alarm devices, or other ordinarily open contact-type alarm triggering devices. It can also monitor typically open monitoring devices and display specific monitoring events on the control panel.
The maximum length of the monitoring line is 762 meters (maximum 20 ohms).
Operation
Each M500 module occupies one of the 99 valid module addresses on the SLC loop, responding to periodic queries from the control panel by reporting its model and the loop's status (open/normal/short circuit). A flashing LED indicates communication with the control panel, while a solid LED indicates an alarm condition.
