Siemens DO1101A-Ex Smoke Detector with DB1101A

The Siemens Cerberus DO1101A and Siemens DO1101A-Ex Smoke Detectors are part of the Cerberus series. Engineers design them for early detection of smoldering fires in dangerous environments.

The DO1101A-Ex version is an explosion-proof photoelectric smoke detector. People usually use it with the DB1101A base. This setup works well in areas with explosion risks, like gas zones 0, 1, and 2.

Also referred to as DO-1101A-EX Cerberus, this detector combines Siemens’ precision sensing technology with robust industrial safety standards.

For explosion-proof installations, the unit works with the do-1101a-ex ceberus mounting base. This base provides stability and compatibility in tough environments.

1. Application Scenarios

Firefighters mainly use the Siemens DO1101A-Ex and Cerberus DO1101A detectors for fire detection. They work in explosion-proof zones (Zones 1 and 2) in industrial and commercial buildings.

These devices are good for dangerous areas that need safe smoke detection. You can use them in both addressable and non-addressable fire detection systems.

The detector attaches firmly to the DB1101A base. It connects to the controller’s non-addressable loop card E3M080. The base and explosion-proof isolation grid create this connection. Alternatively, it can connect through a dedicated input/output module into the detection circuit.
